Privacy Policy

GetFirewood ("GetFirewood," "we," "us") connects customers with vetted local firewood vendors. This policy explains what information we collect when you use our website at getfirewood.app or our GetFirewood mobile app, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

GetFirewood is operated by Eastside Firewood DotCom in Washington State, USA. You can reach us at support@getfirewood.app.

2. Information we collect

We collect the information you give us when you use GetFirewood:

Account information: your name, email address, and (for cash-on-delivery customers and all vendors) a verified phone number.
Delivery details: the street address, city, state, ZIP code, and any drop-off instructions you provide for an order.
Order details: the products you buy, quantities, pricing, delivery time slot, and the status of each delivery.
Photos: if you choose "leave at location," the photo you take of your preferred drop-off spot, and the photo the driver takes at delivery as proof of drop-off.
Payment information: credit card details are entered directly into Square, our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number. We do store a Square customer ID and a card token that represents your saved card so we can charge the no-show fee on cash-on-delivery orders if applicable.
Vendor information: business name, contact details, insurance acknowledgment, billing card (used for service fees on cash-on-delivery orders), product listings, delivery zones, and schedule.
Technical data: basic device and log information generated automatically when you use the app (IP address, app version, crash reports) used to keep the service running and secure.

We do not collect precise device location, contacts, microphone, health, or biometric data.

3. How we use your information

To create your account and let you sign in.
To route your order to the right vendor and let them deliver it.
To verify your phone number (one-time SMS code) before allowing cash on delivery, and to contact you about your order if needed.
To process payments and refunds through Square.
To charge the $100 no-show fee on cash-on-delivery orders that are marked no-show by the vendor, and to charge the 10% platform service fee from a vendor's billing card on cash-on-delivery orders the vendor marks as collected.
To provide proof of delivery (photo at drop-off) and resolve disputes.
To detect and prevent fraud and abuse of the platform.
To comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share information with

We share only what is necessary, and only with the following categories:

Vendors fulfilling your order. The vendor delivering your firewood receives your name, delivery address, phone number, order contents, slot, and any drop-off photo or instructions you provided. Vendors are contractually required to use this only to fulfill the order.
Square (payment processing). See squareup.com/legal/general/privacy.
Twilio (SMS verification codes). See twilio.com/legal/privacy.
Vercel (hosting our backend and the website) and Neon (database).
Vercel Blob (image storage for drop-off photos).
Law enforcement or regulators when we are legally required to do so.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with advertising networks.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep your account and order history for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within 30 days, except for records we are required by law to retain (for example, tax records of completed transactions), which we keep for the period required by law and then delete.

6. Your choices and rights

Access and correction: you can view and update your name, email, phone, and saved payment method inside the app, or by emailing us.
Delete your account: visit getfirewood.app/account-delete or email support@getfirewood.app and we will delete your account and associated personal information.
Opt out of SMS: reply STOP to any SMS verification message to stop further messages. (Note: phone verification is required for cash on delivery, so opting out means cash on delivery will be unavailable.)

7. Children

GetFirewood is intended for adults (18+) who can lawfully buy or sell firewood. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

8. Security

We use industry-standard security to protect your information, including TLS in transit, encrypted databases at rest, and tokenized payment information held by Square. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach occurs that affects you, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

9. International users

GetFirewood is currently available only in the United States. Our infrastructure runs in the United States. If you are accessing the service from outside the U.S., you consent to your information being transferred to and processed in the United States.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app or by email.
